Specialty Care
Patients who need a specialist’s care, and who qualify under QueensCare’s eligibility rules, are referred to the QueensCare Family Clinics’ Chief Medical Officer, who may authorize a visit to one of many specialists contracted with QueensCare. At times, funding limitations for specialty care can restrict the ability of QueensCare to provide this care, so priority is generally given to the residents of QueensCare’s Primary Service Area. (see: "Who Does QueensCare Serve" for a description of the geographic service areas.)
